Introduction
WhittenHi , my name's Witten and I'm Maggie , and this is episode 7 of Unmute , titled Lizzie's Lies .
MaggieLast week's episode we covered how to divorce a crazy person .
WhittenYes , we did , and by last week , we mean three weeks ago , and listen , we're sorry . Oh , yeah , sorry . Okay , there's been a lot of snow and ice here in Kentucky and we couldn't see each other . We couldn't .
MaggieWe couldn't get out of our houses and then I got the norovirus and we've really and I sure as hell wasn't coming over here during that no and we really didn't like .
WhittenI've not been confident enough to try to do this through zoom or we could do it .
WhittenYeah , I mean , that would have been like I would be so afraid of how editing would go . So thanks for your patience as we move into this episode . This is a little bit of a different episode . I'm still going to include our trigger warning because I went through a lot of domestic abuse and that affects the way I perceived a lot of the lies we're going to uncover in this episode . But the trigger warning is a little different , because nothing I don't think is going to be entirely traumatizing , luckily , in this one , but I was going through trauma as I experienced it . Of course , our whole podcast doesn't go in chronological order and I don't even know if these stories that I'm going to tell in this episode are going to go in chronological order .
MaggieYeah , probably not . And also we want to remind that the names have been changed to protect the guilty , but also to protect the innocent .
WhittenSo , without further ado , we hope you enjoy Lizzie's Lies For this episode we're actually going to tell you several different stories that Lizzie told me that in the moment I believed and perceived to be her true history . As we go through each of these lies , we're going to discuss what stage of grooming I was in , how long I'd known her and everything else , because I'm sure this bitch to my left is going to say , like how did you believe that ?
MaggieOh , I absolutely will . You're gonna get my honest reaction on a lot of these , because she told me a lot , but again , this was years ago and I don't quite remember everything , and just looking at some of these notes which I just barely skimmed because I wanted my reaction to be honest , I was reminded of how fucking ridiculous a lot of this is .
WhittenSo then we're also going to rate these on a bizarre scale of one to ten , so Maggie will give each one a rating and I will give each one a rating .
MaggieTens , tens , across the board , tens .
WhittenThey're not all gonna be tens . Okay , thank you , and I hope you enjoy the first lie .
Black Mold
WhittenThis lie is entitled Black Mold . Do tell so . When we were at our house one day and this was when we were in Pashtun Town there was mold on bread and I went in the kitchen and everything was fine . I was working pairing stuff and we were not eating bread .
MaggieRemember , we were not eating bread because of Cheeto oh right , you were bread because of keto .
WhittenSo the bread had probably not been looked at for a while and this bread had mold on it . So lizzie spies the mold and runs out of the house . Out of the house and I'm freaking out like what's going on ? Is there a mouse ? Like ? Why are we leaving the house ?
WhittenI go outside and she explains to me that when she's near mold , mold can grow inside of her body . Because she has been severely ill due to black mold . So she expressed that in her past when she worked and we're not going to say where she worked , but she worked at a job where she had to do a lot of tasks in one place . So she was just in one place doing tasks all day , okay , and she said that this place had severe black mold . Okay , and they reported it and no one would do anything about it .
WhittenSo she just had to keep working with the black mold , okay , and it got so bad and she was with one of her husbands at this time that she could no longer form words or speak . She lost cognition . So they started to go to doctors try to figure out how to heal her from her severe mold exposure , and every treatment that they tried to do was not working until they found one doctor who decided , found a regimen of about 15 vitamins that she had to take every certain amount of hours and she had to take the vitamins and eventually it saved her from the mold and the left her body and she could start making sentences again .
MaggieBut if she's near the way you say that the mold left her body . It's almost like there was an exorcism of the mold . I love it .
WhittenBut if she was near mold it could awaken the mold it could awaken the mold or like jump into her right .
MaggieThat devil , that demon just gonna jump into her body , but from the bread bag , from the bread bag , but in the plastic bag that the bread is in .
WhittenThe mold could trigger her to like get mold sick again , because she could just look at it and it just like latches on .
MaggieBut so I believed this .
WhittenSure , sure , some parts of the story . I believe you could work somewhere that would have black mold and not know anything about that ?
MaggieOh , absolutely , I've been in places that I know have had black mold in it . Yes , it's gross , so I did ask her if she got so deathly ill why she didn't sue them .
WhittenAnd she said she would never have done that .
MaggieWhich doesn't sound like her . I don't believe that the illness I don't believe Doesn't sound like her .
WhittenI don't believe that it's the illness . I don't know I guess I don't know a lot about medicine it just I believed her that she grew mold in her .
MaggieSure , and y'all , you were pretty deep into the I lived in Pasture Town . Yeah , you were in Pasture Town already so you were pretty deep into things with her grooming phase and whatnot . So I understand why you would know I understand that you would believe that . I don't understand why you would believe that . I understand that you did . But do you want to speak to ?
WhittenSo she had it like when we first got together . She had a very old Apple watch and this Apple watch she said she had to have because she had to be reminded to take her vitamins because of mold . It's a requirement , but it wasn't doing well , and so I had to buy her a new Apple watch . But that happened Like I had to get a new Apple watch earlier on . I didn't realize exactly why I was yet doing it .
MaggieIt was because of those vitamins , or at least that was the excuse . Yes , you know so .
WhittenBizarrability , bizarro scale , this one's a .
MaggieI don't know . Just knowing some of these other stories , I'm going to put this pretty low . It's like a two yeah , two or three yeah no this , isn't that that bizarre ?
Whittenno , not compared to what we're about to get into but so yeah , she's a mold infested human , so don't bring moldy bread near lizzie no .
Maggieor if you do have a good medicine cabinet full of vitamins . Vitamins , because apparently they cure all . They cure black molds .
The Amazing Race
WhittenThis lie shall be called the Amazing Race . Lizzie told me that she had been cast to be in the Amazing Race . She was cast to be in the Amazing Race but the Amazing Race did not take off or go because of the pandemic . First , maggie and I since then have seen the Amazing Race . So we will talk about how many layers of wrongness are in this , because now I'm starting to think more questions . But she did show me the audition video . Okay , I saw the audition video of her and her son that they sent to the amazing race . Okay , she told me that they never sent , they never had to send an audition video , they just cast her and then asked her to make the audition video for them to use that footage oh , it's like an intro , that's like their intro yes , but she said we got cast .
WhittenWe didn't even have to make a real audition video , but they asked us to send one in so they'd have the footage to show .
MaggieSo how did they get ?
Whittencast . They were found online , oh my , because she perceives herself as a local celebrity .
MaggieI think she perceives herself as more than a local celebrity .
WhittenYes , she perceives herself as an international celebrity . Yes , and because of this , she was asked to be on the Amazing Race and she and her son were going to go on the Amazing Race and it was heartbreaking that they couldn't go because of the pandemic . I had seen the audition video . I believed this . She told this story so many times to so many people . This was truth in my life . Sure , I would say this to people Like we would go out into Pasture Town and we'd be , like you know , at the Pasture Town furniture store . And we would go out into Pasture Town and we'd be , like you know , at the Pasture Town furniture store and they'd be asking us about what we were doing . And I was like you know , lizzie was going to be on the Amazing Race . I would just a little tidbit that I thought was the coolest thing . You know , I thought she was the coolest human and I still believed this until the season of the Amazing Race during the pandemic came out and Maggie and I watched it together .
MaggieYes , we did came out and Maggie and I watched it together . Yes , we did , Because it was after you were back . Yes , and Amazing Race other than RuPaul's Drag Race , Amazing Race is my favorite favorite reality show For her .
WhittenShe loves it and I was really wanting to watch it . So Maggie was like , oh , watch it with me . Yeah , and yeah , that season . Actually they're in the Amazing Race out there doing it , and then the pandemic stops them . Right , so pandemic stops them right .
MaggieSo it wasn't like it wasn't like there was a season , because they filmed that shit so far in advance that , yeah , they're halfway through the season . I don't even know if it was halfway , it was a little , but into the season , enough season . And yes , phil comes out and he's like so there's this thing going around and we have to cancel the show .
WhittenAnd then the same people who had been on that season got invited back , because that's the season the people we loved won , like the people who do those little silly songs yeah , yes , the Kim lady and her family . You just sent me a video they do , oh .
MaggieGood , you just sent me one of their videos . Oh , the Holdernesses . Yes , oh my God .
WhittenYes , oh my God , yes , I love them . Sorry , they had been on it , had to leave and then they came back , and the reason they probably did so well is they trained .
MaggieA lot of people didn't train while they were gone , that's right , but they trained alone at home . It's just so physical and mental . But I think everybody except one team came back .
WhittenAnd then they got to bring a team who had gotten it right . Yes , right , but none of that was lizzie .
MaggieNo , so there was no mention of lizzie , no so lizzie had never been I never been at all part of this at all . I could believe that she and her son auditioned well the tape exists right , and I doubt that they . I mean , I would imagine that they did make a video and they did try to audition and they were rejected yeah but I could also see her being so fucking crazy that she made her son make a video with her , just for this lie . Oh my God , for this lie . Yeah , because she's that calculated and crazy .
WhittenI believed this so much that even after she beat me and abused me and I knew so many things were lies , I thought this was true Until that season came out , we watched . I was flabbergasted .
MaggieUh-huh . I mean , I remember you still talking about , like she said she was haunted , I was so waiting , so that was just a lie . Yeah , so she said that they were cast and then it just didn't get filmed .
WhittenThey didn't get to go , but like she was set to go , like they were planning to go , but the pandemic happened . She had things arranged and flights arranged and everything was going to go . Oh my goodness . But that's not true . No .
MaggieHow We've got real , solid proof of that .
WhittenOh yeah , this is not true . No , but like what the fuck ? Okay , yeah .
MaggieSo Bizarre Ability Scale . That's pretty far up there , because I think that the fact that that has solid proof that you can see , yeah , that's very true . It's very true . Why would you lie about that ?
Whittenbut she was telling everyone people , when we were out like volunteering in west louisville , she was like I was gonna be like all this stuff , I believe you , yeah , so yeah , a seven yeah , at least crazy pants crazy pants
Medium
Whittenwe will title this lie lizzie sees ghosts lizzie is a medium lizzie is a medium .
WhittenDuring the time of the pandemic , when I was first starting to hang out with Lizzie and going over to her house Like we lived separately one night I was over there and her boyfriend was over there and she and her boyfriend and I were talking and playing cards and doing things and Lizzie said there's a dead girl sitting next to you and I Jesus .
WhittenI was like what she was like . A dead girl's been following me for years , since I visited where her bus crash happened and she's latched on to me and now she follows me around and she is never going to leave me alone and she's sitting next to you . And I was like why , like what ? And she said oh , I see dead people , I can see ghosts , and this is the first time you've ever heard of this right , yes .
WhittenAnd I was like , is she right next to me ? And it was in a moment of very just seriousness , just like there's a dead girl sitting next to me . And it was in a moment of very just seriousness , just like there's a dead girl sitting next to you . I freak out . I was freaking out . Yeah , I'm not going to say that I was sober , because I probably wasn't . And she told me this and I was very curious as to how often you see dead people . Where are all the dead people ? How do you see dead people ? And she explained to me that she's been seeing dead people since she was about a toddler . She remembers seeing her dead grandparents after they were gone , telling her family and that her family reassured her that you know , they were just trying to help her and that was her grandparents . And she explained that where she lived was not like a new home . It had like a lot of previous owners . And she explained that if I went upstairs there would be a um old school warden who abused children who walked up and down the hall .
MaggieAt the house she's currently living at that you were at with yes .
WhittenYes , so that I was at right then and I was like she's upstairs right now and then she's like she's here all the time , she haunts this house . And I got scared , I will say because she would say it all with such sincerity and the people would be like right behind you or like right there , right then . And I'm going to say this right now because you know this about me I love tarot , I love spirits . I watch that Tyler guy on Netflix all the time who's like that famous medium and does those live shows . I watch some great episodes . I believe he's talking to spirits . I do believe that that is the believability I'm in . I know I'm not religious , but I'm definitely spiritual in that sense .
WhittenThen her boyfriend explained that he had to be exercised in the past . So I'm sitting there and I'm already very uncomfortable because there's a dead girl sitting next to me and everyone's acting like it's normal , like no one's fleeing or getting up or anything , and she's just sitting there apparently , you know , like I shouldn't be rude . But then her boyfriend expresses oh well , you know , like I can see spirits too because I've been exorcised . And then Lizzie's like yeah , I think that's why , you know , I was originally attracted to him because I felt the demons had been gone from his soul and I was like exorcised , like the exorcism of Emily Rose , like what I know of exorcisms is pretty extreme , but that seems they like had to get a pope or a priest Not a pope , sorry , a pope , I'm just the pope . So I believed it but I was scared , right . I went to Maggie's that night .
WhittenThis is early , early on . Yes , it was a lie . That continued because the dead people followed us when we moved . They were there , yeah , when I went to see you . I mean , what do you remember about that ?
Maggieoh yeah , I mean , you came straight to my house . I think you called me on the way and you were crying . I mean , they were making me feel very uncomfortable .
WhittenYes , and then you .
MaggieYou got to my house and I think you called me on the way and you were crying , I mean , they were making me feel very uncomfortable , yes , and then you got to my house and you were , I mean , you were freaked out and you were afraid . And I , like you , I'm not religious , but I do believe in that kind of stuff too . So I don't mean to laugh and make light of spirits or anything like that . I believe in spirits , that's the thing . But this was but just anything she says , I I don't believe . I think that we've made that very clear , but whatever she said to witton just like freaked her the fuck out and would you , even if you saw spirits , would just say to someone like there's a dead girl sitting next to you randomly .
WhittenOh , that's like ease into it . Is that how people see , like whatever , I'm watching the stuff like they have to do all sorts of stuff to be able to see a spirit I don't't know that one seemed like it was very much . And the warden upstairs . I was so afraid to go upstairs .
MaggieThat felt like that was probably a premeditated lie that she and John came up with together because they were like Witten's going to be over here , let's , let's do this tonight .
WhittenAnd like fucked with me like crazy . Yeah , he was exercised . No , he was not . I mean like that's like no , no .
MaggieSo yeah , bizarre ability , oh , it's still pretty low , I don't know .
WhittenAnd Maggie and I both really do believe in spirits .
MaggieIt's true , it's hard , but like . If she was any other person I would say it's very believable and not bizarre . But because it's her . Okay , the exorcism . That's bullshit . Yeah , yeah , I don't know .
WhittenI'm still giving this a pretty low one Like a two , like a two or three . Yeah , Mm-hmm .
The Tale of Three Lies
WhittenSo we will call this lie the tale of three lies .
MaggieI like that .
WhittenBut they're all real husbands .
MaggieThere's some truth to these three lies .
WhittenSo Lizzie had been married prior to me to some men .
MaggieThrice , thrice . I just like saying that .
WhittenEach man came with a series of craziness . The first husband , the father of the children , is the least of the craziness lies that exist , probably because he was still effectively in the life that I was living , because we would refer to him and the children referred to him because he was their father Right .
MaggieI assume you never met him ?
WhittenNo , no no , but I was like speakerphone . He was sometimes called Sure . He was the father he . The lie about him is not even that big of a deal , but I just found it crazy . So apparently he was a crazy alcoholic , which I don't even think that's true , but that's neither here nor there . Sure , this he is the man who brought her to Pasture Town area , so the city near Pastortown is where he got a job . Okay , so he had gone to medical school and then got a job in the city near Pastortown . The thing that she told me was that she found out that he was drinking and when he had been saying he was not drinking anymore because he was an alcoholic , and she made him detox with the children in Disney World and so she frequently pulled him over and he would have to go puke in trash cans in Disney World . What that now ? I don't believe .
MaggieThat seems like an odd choice of a location for detox and an expensive location for detox . Not that that really has one thing to do with the other , but yeah , just so , that's just weird .
WhittenOkay . Second husband , okay , okay , the first husband's a little bit less lies like yeah , just the tale of here's number two . Okay , this brought her to another state , okay , out of out of pasture town . Out of pasture town , she had moved to the other state on her own after the divorce , like from this man , husband one , and was living in another state . I'm not trying to give a lot of details on places because there's no need , but in this area she , they , were threatening to take her children away from her because she didn't have insurance for them . Who ?
Whittenwas threatening Child Protective Services Because she didn't have health insurance Health insurance for her children .
MaggieI don't think that they take children away because they don't have health insurance .
WhittenWhat ? Well , that's not the lie .
MaggieDid you believe that ?
Whittenpart of it . Wait , like that's not the lie though . Okay well , would they take Huh ? Well , in my current mind now I'm realizing , like why wouldn't you just get Medicaid ?
MaggieAlso this was years ago and like they're not checking up on seeing if every child has health insurance , they're concerned about kids that are getting their asses beat and showing up to school with bruises , yeah , or like not going to school , yeah or yeah , okay . Well , health insurance is not a reason that Child Protective Services is coming to your door . Well , sorry , not to derail .
WhittenWell , that's not even Okay . All right , go on . So because of this , they were trying to take her child away , mm-hmm . So there was a guy who was kind of like a friend , who said he was like in love with her , but he was like let's get married and I will , you can , your children will have my health insurance and I can provide health insurance .
MaggieI know which is . That sounds familiar .
WhittenI know which is crazy , but god has that been her scam but so then she married this man and it got health insurance so that she wouldn't lose her children again . But this man happened to own a bunch of hotels and he owned the largest hotel in jamaica . She went to Jamaica with him and she lived in Jamaica with him and she did not want her children to move to Jamaica with her . So she had her parents although she hated them watch her children Because she was afraid that if they were in Jamaica because she said that in Jamaica they treated white people like sultans that was the way she said it . So she said that if her children moved to Jamaica with her , to this hotel that her husband owned , that they would be perceived to be sultans . So that's why her children have those the year or so that they lived with her parents . And she said that while she was in Jamaica she had her own personal maids and servants who , like , took care of their house and everything for her .
MaggieWow .
WhittenThat's the lie .
MaggieUh-huh , so so Okay .
WhittenThere's a lot to unpack here . But so I believed that she lived in Jamaica with the man who owned the largest hotel . It wasn't until later that I learned that that's sandals , and he no . We looked it up , but he was not the owner of sandals he worked at a jewelry store . Oh wow , I believed this , and now I'm realizing I even believed more lies , because I believed that the reason they got married was because the CPS wanted to take her children .
MaggieUh-huh , because they didn't have health insurance .
WhittenIt was health insurance .
MaggieAnd if she was so concerned about her children , why would she send them to live with her parents , who she hated ? I know that's Because was that in the same like ? Was it like she wanted to keep them in the same schools ?
WhittenNo , no , they didn't live in the same state , Okay so I just don't even none of that .
MaggieComputes does not compute .
WhittenSo they did come back from Jamaica and move back to that state they live in .
MaggieShe was just tired of living that life of luxury .
WhittenShe was saying that , like they needed , she had stuff she needed to do . Over here . Lizzie was coming back and forth for some of her work is what she told me Okay that she had important tasks to do , that she was able to do some from Jamaica but needed to come back and do some of the stuff in person . Okay .
MaggieThat's believable . And Knowing what she does , that's believable .
WhittenAnd they her husband and her decided then that they were just going to come back and live in the states again and they were done with that luxury they were done with that life they kind of it sounded as though they were kind of starting to the ends were coming . So then , what she told me ? He , he kept giving her a real ring , Like he gave her a real ring and everything . But she was like I only want my kids to have insurance .
MaggieA real ring . Weren't they already married ? They were married .
WhittenBut like she had , like I guess , like not a fancy ring or anything , but he wanted to give her a real ring because he worked in jewelry . Well , I thought he was a very wealthy hotel owner . Yeah , that's where things got confusing , because he worked in jewelry and he owned hotels , right , right , right , he wanted to give her a real ring . She didn't like this . They kind of started to fight and he said if you don't want a real relationship , I don't want to be with you . And so then he attacked her . She fled for her safety and he called the police on her and she was arrested .
WhittenNow , huh , that sounds like what happened to me . It does sound a hair familiar , but I don't know if what happened in this story is like he didn't attack her . She attacked him and he actually called the police and what he said was true to get her arrested , like if he called first and he was because , I wonder , I doubt he attacked her well , I'm gonna venture to say that most of this is not true and take out that gap of where she said she was in jamaica .
MaggieI think that maybe she did try to attack him or something happened and her children were going to be taken away from her because she got arrested . And I think that this time that she was in quote unquote Jamaica , she was in jail , well , and that's why her children had to go live with her parents .
WhittenYou know what's interesting , too is like one of the other lies we'll talk about happened while she was in jail Well , that's yeah . Too is like one of the other lies we'll talk about happened while she was in jail Well , that's yeah , but it is interesting .
MaggieDo you know the time period of that versus this ? I ?
Whittendon't know . So that was husband number two .
MaggieOh my God , I forgot , there's another one , jesus .
WhittenHusband number three . She comes to Kentucky . Okay , so , new state , new place . I do think her . You know it's hard , it's very hard , the stories were all so vague .
WhittenWell , and even if she , even if she told you something , it was likely a lie but I do know that , at least I do believe , all these three marriages prior to me were legitimate , because when we got married you have to put on your thingy , like your previous marriages , when you fill out your marriage license form . Okay , and these were all listed . So like I don't think , I think these are facts . So this marriage , she married this man . He had children . She had children . His children were younger . She loved them .
WhittenShe said that these children she loved , they were part of her life . She wanted to be with them . They like wanted to be their mom . She was so happy . One of them was super sick and she got her all the care she needed and the kid learned so much from her and looked up to her so much . But he , poor kid , lived , so his mom lived in the basement of his house . It was almost like one of those like split dwellings , separate entrance , sort of thing , right like a mother-in-law suite . Yes , and according to Lizzie , his mother was a narcissist , and his mother Because everybody's a fucking narcissist according to her .
WhittenHis mother was controlling his life and his mother was the priority . So Lizzie did not like that In the eyes of Lizzie . Lizzie said to him your mom's too controlling . We need to not have your mom in our lives . He said no , my mom's going to be in my life , she's my mom . And then Lizzie said some choice words like I will only be with you if your mom's not involved . And then left for a bit and then he took his kids away so they'd never see her again and decided to distance himself entirely from her for a bit because he was Smart guy , afraid of what was going on . And then she made a fake Facebook account of him and got on the fake Facebook account and posted pictures of her self-abuse , saying that he had done it . What Saying I am so sorry and I want to come clean so I can get back with my wife . I am so sorry for the abuse I did to my wife , but she had this fake Facebook account .
MaggieSee , I 100% believe that .
WhittenBut she told me this I believe that but she said that the abuse was real . She said that he had abused her . No , so she said she took pictures of the abuse that he had done to her .
MaggieThat also sounds very familiar .
WhittenIt's kind of fucking crazy now like to think about all this . But so she made this fake Facebook and apparently it like ruined this guy's life .
MaggieAlso sounds familiar .
WhittenAnd so she said that sometimes she would still occasionally get on it because he abused her so much he deserved to be , deserved to have his life ruined . And I believed her because I thought she was telling the truth . I believed her that he beat her and that all this stuff happened . But what's confusing in the timeline is like she told him I will only be with you because of this . He took the kids away to get away from her . I don't know where he would have beat her . What I do know factually from her children is that the grandparents Lizzie's parents during this time came because Lizzie was so upset and unstable that Lizzie's parents were in communication with the husband and they took the kids to say goodbye to the family . But Lizzie was not invited to say goodbye to the family and Lizzie was really pissed about that .
MaggieI mean hearing this and I know I've known some of it , but it's been a long time since we've dove into it on this level . She did the same fucking thing to number two and number three as she did to you . I mean it . That's her MO To make the person look crazy and I'm curious if she's gonna do it to number five , but I think that number five is just as batshit as she is , and they're just living their best life exercised and all exercised and all I don't know .
WhittenBut that what's I mean ? Look at like the trajectory , because , yes , I do wonder too , because there's not a lot of . She didn't say a lot about number one , other than the fact that he was an alcoholic .
MaggieShe still said bad things , but I think because he was in the kids lives , exactly like said , because that's the father of her children and the children were in the house , he got off light .
WhittenYeah , lucky him Well , because I don't think that she could say those things and then her children like not repeat them back to him and never get caught in a lie .
MaggieYeah , two , claiming that he lied about her , her abusing him . And then number three was she created this fake page , which I just can't believe , but like , okay , I did believe she falsified photos that you abused her .
WhittenI know .
MaggieShe , I mean it's fucked up I still wonder how she got somebody to . Did she get her son to bite her tit ?
WhittenProbably , yeah , probably I mean her tit , probably , yeah , Probably . I mean the boob bites . Stupid , bizarre ability . It's hard now , because now Maggie's like well , these aren't bizarre , because this is what this bitch's MO is . But remember Jamaica .
MaggieI mean when you stack them on top of each other . I'm giving it a 10 . I'm giving it a 10 .
WhittenThe Jamaica thing is so crazy because it wasn't until like I had a co-worker and I was literally just like talking about my life and I was like , well , her second husband actually owned the largest hotel in Jamaica . And she like , no , he didn't . And I was like , well , the whole story about the Sultans and stuff the Sultans , jesus , yeah , yeah .
MaggieNow , when you stack them on top of each other , I'm giving it a 10 .
The Pregnant Prisoner
MaggieA 10 .
WhittenWe will call this lie the pregnant prisoner .
MaggieOh , I love that alliteration .
WhittenSo Lizzie told me that when she was arrested unjustly for attacking her husband , when he had attacked her Okay , jamaica , she was . That's the husband . Yeah , yes , yes , but she was in jail and several things about this . First , she got arrested and no one was helping her and she was there for much longer than she should have been because no one was supporting her . And when they handed her clothes , they only gave her two shirts instead of shirt and pants . So she never put on the jail clothes , she only wore what she was wearing into jail because they never gave her the right stuff for several days until she got the right stuff .
MaggieI don't think that's how that works , and I think you now know that .
WhittenI was going from someone who is dressed in , from someone who is dressed in in the past . I am very aware that no one lets you just wander around in just your own clothes . Yeah Lie , but at this point I didn't know that and I was like even give you panties , if you can call them Prison panties . But I believed this when she said this because I hadn't had my experience . She also said that no advocates , because a lot of times when a woman's abused and claiming abuse , there's a lot of advocates who will come help you , but no advocates would help her because she had charges , because she was the abuser , so she wasn't getting any help . While she was in jail they were in a room with a bunch of bunk beds , according to her depiction , like a bunch of women together in a room , which I believe is probably the way it was .
MaggieAt least that's what you see on TV .
WhittenYes , she was bunking with a woman who no one wanted to talk to because she was a murderer and Lizzie was a . Everyone was afraid of her and Lizzie was very embarrassed because the clothing that she was wearing she said it was just a little pink tank top and little like short shorts , and that's what she was wearing , because everyone else was wearing prison clothes , but she was in her normal clothes . Sure , the way the story that she told me goes is this woman who was the murderer was pregnant and everyone was afraid of her and she was hurting people and made shivs , shivelies , what the fuck did you just say Shivelies ?
WhittenNope that's a neighborhood Neighborhood .
MaggieShe made like I think it's like you said the first time A shiv . A shiv , yes , a makeshift knife , yes , so she had weapons . So she's like just out , in , she's in the bunk , just like making shivs out of whatever she can find . That's what , just like fucking with people all the time . That's what she's doing Pregnant Cool yeah , that's what she's very pregnant , though , badass . Bitch .
WhittenScared of her . So then she starts going into labor and none of the guards will come help . None of them , like they can see , but no one will help . There's other prisoners who are there and they're afraid of her , so no one's helping . So Lizzie goes and helps her deliver her baby right there in the jail .
MaggieSure .
WhittenI believed this , and I believed this when I lived in Louisville . Still Because I think I came to your house and told you the story .
MaggieYou did . Did you question it ? I think I wanted to shake you and slap you when you said it to me , but I think that at that point we were teetering on the edge of , if I questioned things that Lizzie said to you , I was afraid it was going to drive you away , so I probably didn't Say that to me . Well , I'm certain I didn't believe it and I'm certain I didn't believe it and I'm certain I said that to you , but I probably didn't try to push you so much as to say bitch , you are stupid if you think that is real Straight up Now . Honestly , no part of that story is real . No part of it .
WhittenI believe she was arrested .
MaggieOh , I believe that bitch has been arrested , but I don't . Maybe there was some pregnant girl where she was when she got arrested , but like no , one gave birth without a guard .
WhittenOkay , first of all , who knows Jail ? People can suck Sure .
MaggieLizzie did not birth a baby .
WhittenLizzie did not birth a baby .
MaggieLizzie was not a midwife coach doctor sitting there .
WhittenAnd I just don't believe that then no one would come , because the lawsuits would be absurd if no one came . None of it , and forgive me , because one day I want to have a kid , but typically labor is not that quick . It would take a long time . Someone would have come to help her .
MaggieRight . So during all that time , all the guards are just like standing behind , laughing , essentially Just laughing , and the other inmates in their bunk beds .
WhittenDuring all that time , all the guards are just like standing behind , laughing essentially , and the other inmates in their bunk beds .
MaggieI don't know .
WhittenBut Lizzie's doing it in her tank , top Her tank top and her short shorts . She said they were like short . I picture like little Sophie shorts in my head . I don't know what she was wearing , but that's what I pictured .
MaggieDid she have to pull off her little pink tank top and wrap the baby in it to keep it ? I don't know , but I To swaddle it .
WhittenWell , so this was one of those nights when we were becoming close and she said this to me , and I'm sure you're just sitting there like mouth agape , just hook line and sinker . I'm sorry , but no , but like we're telling ourselves , we both went through . I'm talking about my suicide attempt , right , and she's talking about this . Mm-hmm , yeah , bizarre ability .
MaggieMore than 10 . 10 plus 10 plus .
The Cure
WhittenWe shall call this lie the cure .
MaggieThe cure . Not to be confused with the 1980s band the Witten has no idea what I'm talking about .
WhittenI was like Lizzie was a young mother . She had her first child at 19 years old . This lie goes through a story . Lizzie said that at the time when she was having her child so Lizzie was older than me like not a ton older than me , but older than me and she said that during that time people really looked down on unwed young moms when she was having her child . So Lizzie was older than me like not a ton older than me , but older than me and she said that during that time people really looked down on unwed young moms . When she was giving birth to her kid , apparently there was some sort of issue to the point where she was bleeding out and like while she was giving birth , it took him forever to notice she was bleeding out .
MaggieWait , was she bleeding out during the birth or she was having issues during the pregnancy ?
Whittenthis was like when she was in the hospital , for okay and okay , they didn't notice that her , that her insides were hemorrhaging , yes , and her blood pressure was going down , everything like . No one noticed anything . Was she not hooked up to machines ? I listen , okay , they did not care about unwed mothers . They were ignoring her it was just straight up ignoring her .
MaggieSorry , I'm not trying to fact check this , no this is what she told me they did .
WhittenYeah , well , we don't fact checking , it's not going to do . Well , we've learned , but I'm checking like the story she told me three years ago . Sorry , I'm not checking , right , right , right , okay . So , from what she told me , it Okay . And the fact that she hasn't said that so yet , coming from love , she hasn't said it yet is a big deal .
WhittenSo , in order to save her life , when they finally noticed she was dying , they had to essentially give her a blood transfusion and then she was able to give birth to her first child . This blood transfusion just happened to be HIV positive . We've now found out . So Lizzie and her child are alive because they were saved by the blood transfusion , but they are now both both of them HIV positive because of the blood transfusion . Apparently , at this time , if you were HIV positive , every week you went to the doctor , they checked your levels and if they were not much worse , then they sent you home . So that was what you did .
WhittenAs HIV positive at this time , lizzie started to have her numbers go down , which is unheard of , because numbers go up . Why were Lizzie's numbers going down ? Well , she thought maybe her transfusion and her and her baby had some sort of antibodies inside of them that could help cure this . When she went back again and the numbers were even further down , they put a marker on her file and she thought that was weird . But she was still breastfeeding her baby and doing all these things . So she goes back home because she just has to go on for this weekly test . She gets back home and she's breastfeeding her baby and her partner is at work and the government comes and takes her . Maggie is laughing a lot . I'm literally closing my eyes to focus into the story . The government comes and takes her and her baby .
MaggieI'm just picturing . I'm just picturing , sorry , just say what you're picturing . I'm just picturing men in fedoras with sunglasses on and brown suits , suits . And they just come and they open the door . They take her with no explanation , they get her robe right . I'm thinking like it's the 1950s or 60s or something . The government comes and takes her away .
WhittenGo on , okay , sorry getting back in the moment . So they take her to some sort of concrete basement is the way she's described it to me . She is in a bed and they're taking , doing a lot of blood , they're doing a lot of tests on her . She's still able to breastfeed her baby . So they bring her baby . Yeah , they take her and the baby . They're in this warehouse .
WhittenShirley wants to talk to the baby daddy and they say no one can see her , she can't talk to anyone . She is part of a government experiment to figure out why her numbers are going down for HIV , taking her blood and realizing that when they put her blood with those who are hiv positive or even those who have aids , that they're able to do a sort of flushing out situation where then they are cured . This feels very frustrating to lizzie . She doesn't like this news because she doesn't want to be used as like a human medicine machine . So she eventually is allowed to have her baby daddy , come see her . The government says that she is now red flagged and her file is on a red flag . They have vials of her blood that they're using and her blood is now a source that they're using to cure AIDS . Now her son had never heard this story . Until she was telling you Never . He wasn't in the room . Her son had never heard this story . Her boyfriend believed this .
MaggieWas he hearing it for the first time ?
WhittenNo , no , he believed he had known this he was like , yeah , tell her , tell her what you did . Like tell her how your blood's a magic . So she says to me at all hospitals there's a red flag on my name when you go into the hospital , like my file's red flagged . No one can look at my file . Don't tell my son this . My son doesn't know and I don't want him to know the risk or the responsibility that he bears , because no one should be using their blood to cure someone else .
MaggieWell , isn't he HIV positive ? Yes , HIV , Just like her . No , no self-cured . Oh , but he's also self-cured . Yes , yes , sure , sure , yes , yes , sure .
WhittenYeah .
WhittenSo he's red flagged as well , yes , but he doesn't know . Oh , I believed this and I did come back and mention , when I was talking to Maggie about something , that Lizzie's medical file is actually secured because of her ability to cure AIDS . And Lizzie told me that one of her friends in the community that I knew in Pasture Town , a good friend of ours , had called her and said I actually just found out that I have AIDS . And Lizzie said Lizzie said I can help you and she contacted the government and they took her and him to the facility and she cured him . Now this friend of hers has always said to me I'd always heard like Lizzie help me with something big , lizzie help me with something big . So I always thought this was it , this must be the big thing Lizzie helped him with . I really don't know the big thing Lizzie helped him with , but I highly doubt she cured his AIDS because I don't think a human can cure AIDS . But I believed this . You may speak . I believed this you may speak .
MaggieIt's just like it's hard . It's hard , it's hard to call you a dumbass , go ahead Because of the situation that you were in and you were so manipulated . But like , how in the hell did you believe any of that to be true ? That is the most preposterous .
WhittenI know now what's scary is .
MaggieI did believe it , but this is when you said . She said when you were still in louisville she said this a lot of times .
WhittenSo she said this in front of john in louisville , but she would talk about this all the time , cause when we would go to the doctor and stuff , she'd say that we can't talk about my medical file . No one will bring up my medical file . Like my medical file , you can't talk about my medical stuff . So I always wondered since then if she has some sort of psychiatric diagnosis that she doesn't want her medical file getting brought up . But and brought up but like I wondered if there was something else that she's trying to cover and like make up this for . But no , she . I mean , this came up multiple , multiple times let's suspend reality for a second .
Maggieif she was this magical unicorn whose blood could cure aids , I don't think that you'd be able to be in the room with her once they'd open that medical file and be like , oh shit , we've got to get this other girl out of here because we've got this special unicorn in here we can't talk about any of her medical history because the men in Doris will come and take her away .
WhittenDo you think that if there are places our government's doing weird stuff like that , A hundred percent .
MaggieI think there's places that our government's doing weird shit , but I don't think that they have Lizzie locked in a basement taking her blood because it cures AIDS , while she's breastfeeding her baby With her baby .
WhittenNo , but do you think there are places that they're like locking people in the basement ?
MaggieOh , I think there's weird shit going on . A hundred percent .
WhittenThat can be next season , maybe conspiracy theories yeah , maggie , and I believe in ghosts , okay , so bizarre factor just this one takes the cake for me with bizarro and witten's gullibility .
MaggieBizarro and unbelievable , a hundred Fifty Times , infinity .
Conclusion
MaggieWell , thank you for sharing those stories with us . I hope I wasn't too mean to you .
WhittenYou're not mean to me , no , and I know , I definitely know I was brainwashed .
MaggieYou were groomed , masterfully manipulated yes , for a long , well , not even a long time , you just like . The isolation yes For a long well , not even a long time .
WhittenYou just like the isolation and like I , Maggie and I like to watch our true crime docs . The biggest thing they say , like in getting indoctrinated into a cult or into any sort of ideology or anything , Isolation is the first thing and I was so isolated . I know it's not a cult or anything like that , but isolation takes away your whole .
MaggieYour reality falters because you're not part of the real world Right and pandemic isolation just those two things together didn't do you any favors . No , but I also know that this was just a fraction of the lies that she told you .
WhittenYes , I know . Well , it's like I guess every day I was just living in these lies . Like her mom has a disease where she can hear her eyes move what in these lies ? Like her mom has a disease where she can hear her eyes move what the fuck I know ?
Whittenbut like that's what she would say , like , like , oh , also a disease where she can hear her eyes move but , like , there's all these things that I heard every day , so I was just living in sort of a state of like I don't even understand what's real and what's not real . Yeah , yeah , so yes , if we ever , we probably could do like a part three , part four , part five of this , because there's just so many , but this is the beginning . I do think that there's definitely some really crazy ones in there , so we gave you some doozies . Uh huh . A part of abuse and a part of this sort of world and life , that of trauma that I live in , is you always say that there's something good , there's something like that started you staying there , or else you wouldn't have stayed . So there's something that got me in and something that made me believe .
WhittenSo , I know that I'm an intelligent human . I still think I'm gullible , I am genuinely gullible , am genuinely gullible , but I'm intelligent . I just had my reality taken away from me and I believed the false one that was put in front of me . So it's silly when we look at it now , next time you've learned a lot . I've learned a lot and now I don't think any of my friends want me to date anyone until they meet them and it's like , oh , there's going to be a strict vetting process , very stringent vetting process Uh-huh , but next time on Unmute , we're going to hear updates of how Witten's doing now .
MaggieOoh and maybe Do a little Q&A , take some questions yeah , so give us some questions .
WhittenTake some questions yeah , so give us some questions . What do you want to know about us ?
MaggieNot , us , not us . The story Witten and her story .
WhittenWhat do you want to know about this story specifically ? Actually , I don't really want to talk about other things . Let's do this story . That's this season . You know , maybe we'll do another season or another thing , but right now just this one . Okay , so until next time .
